In our business, properly pronouncing people's names is important. There's the credibility factor and then the simple respect factor of actually bothering to learn how to say another person's name correctly. It's hard to believe I haven't blogged in almost three weeks. But something really got me going this morning. I mean REALLY got me going. It's a sad, pathetic tale that is played out over and over again each day on the fields and courts throughout this country and the world.

The Houston Texans can be criticized for ONE thing if you’re going to bother criticizing them at all.

I know this story’s five days in the past (which in the news world is an eternity) but I’m going to weigh in on a few things anyway while also looking forward. The game itself played out pretty much exactly as I expected. Within the first five minutes, it was abundantly clear that Florida had UCLA completely overmatched in the frontcourt and the teams were even (at best) in the backcourt. If Lee Humphrey doesn’t fall off his bike and hurt his shoulder in midseason, the Gators wouldn’t have lost more than two, maybe three, games.
