Recommendation: “Top Gun” is a classic popcorn film that mixes action with just enough romance to keep most audiences entertained. Did it need a 3D conversion? Probably not, but to Paramount Picture’s credit they’ve done a marvelous job of converting the film and in many ways the 3D version of the film looks better than the 2D Blu-ray release (which is also included and appears to be the same transfer used for the 25th Anniversary Edition from 2011). If you have a 3D set-up and enjoy “Top Gun” I highly recommend adding this release to you collection.
