The Film: An epidemic started by a crazed religious leader has transformed most of the world into flesh-hungry zombies and has caused all the women to go sterile. Caught in the middle of the chaos a pair of zombie hunters help a mad scientist in his efforts to find a cure.

The Extras: Making-Of Featurette

Recommendation: Presented by Uwe Boll this low-budget Italian zombie film is better than you might think, but not quite a return to the glory days of Italian exploitation. The story features some of the traditional genre clichés, but does introduce a few unexpected elements. Unfortunately it also has quite a few slow moments where the less-than-stellar dialogue bogs things down (the awful English dub doesn’t help, I’d stick to the original Italian soundtrack). The gore is decent, and while the use of green screen here and there isn’t always convincing the results are far more impressive than the terrible digital work in “Osombie.” If you’re a rabid zombie devotee “Eaters” is worth a look.
