John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) has figured out a way to populate his new theme park with cloned dinosaurs, but his careless disregard for the dangers associated with such a feat puts him and a group of visiting scientists at risk.
Twenty years ago “Jurassic Park” stormed into theaters at the start of summer and, like many Steven Spielberg films do, dominated the box office with its cutting-edge technology, strong script by Michael Crichton and David Koepp (based on Crichton’s best-selling novel) and a cast that featured established stars like Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, the soon-to-be-famous Samuel L. Jackson and the brilliant casting of Richard Attenborough (who had to be coaxed out of retirement). Not that this is new to many of you. You’ve already decided if you enjoy the film. Now you’re simply wondering if you should be seeing it again. Yes, without a doubt, you should be seeing “Jurassic Park” in 3D and on an IMAX screen if possible. The 3D is used brilliantly (the only exception being one easily forgiven scene) and even more surprisingly the special effects have held up remarkably well. Seeing the film on IMAX was a fantastic experience that cannot be replicated by watching the film at home. It’s big, bombastic and brilliant fun.
