DVD Review: 13 Eerie
Rated: Not Rated
Street Date: April 2, 2013
Available On: DVD
The Film: A group of forensic undergrads visit a remote island in hopes of landing jobs with the FBI. The island, thought now deserted, was once used as a biological testing ground for illegal experiments on death row inmates. The students are about to be subjected to the fruits of those experiments as the dead convicts rise from their graves.
The Extras: Making-of Featurette, Photo Gallery, Audio Commentary
Recommendation: “13 Eerie” is a no budget zombie film with a silly premise and zombies that look more like Peter Jackson’s Uruk-hai than your typical living dead. The film does features some recognizable faces like Brendan Fehr (“Roswell”) and Katharine Isabelle (“Ginger Snaps”) amongst its cast, but there’s not much of a story beyond the general zombie mayhem. I prefer my horror films to have a little more originality but if you’re simply looking for a by-the-numbers feast “13 Eerie” will suffice.
