Movie Review: 20 Feet from Stardom
4 out of 5 Stars
Director: Morgan Neville
Starring: Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer, Judith Hill
Recommended To: Music lovers interested in a history lesson on the evolution, importance and mindset of some of the world's most famous backup singers.

Review: I skipped 20 Feet from Stardom at the Sundance Film Festival. I did so believing that my time would be better spent elsewhere. In retrospect, I was wrong. 20 Feet from Stardom is a fascinating documentary that not only looks at the history of the backup singer, but also takes the time to explore the psychological difference between being a backup singer and a lead singer or solo artist. It's not always a question of talent; sometimes it takes a little luck and a whole lot of courage.
