Riverton Hospital Adds Specialty Nursery
(KUTV) The Riverton hospital is adding a new unit to the facility for babies who need a little extra care.
The rooms are empty now but soon they will have some of the smallest and sickest patients at Riverton hospital.
Doctor Glen Huff is a pediatric hospitalist at Riverton hospital and he says currently the hospital has a small specialty care nursery. Babies born prematurely, or need a little extra care will be sent to the specialty care nursery.
As the community on the west side of the valley grows, doctor Huff says there was a need to expand.
Babies will be monitor around the clock by nurses and doctors while mothers recover in private rooms, parents will be able to stay overnight with their newborns.
The nursery is scheduled to open later this month.
