Teens Less Likely To Buy Tobacco Products If They're Out Of Sight
(KUTV) If teenagers don’t see tobacco products, they’re less likely to buy them.
That’s the conclusion from a study published in the Journal of Pediatrics that included over 1,200 teenagers.
They were all invited to shop at a virtual convenience store. When tobacco products were out in the open, more than 24% made tobacco purchases. When the products were hidden, only 9% purchased them.
The study authors say the results support policies that ban displaying tobacco products.
