Loneliness Can Harm Health
(KUTV) Feelings of loneliness can take years off of your life. According to a new study, lonely people are more likely to have elevated immune responses when they are under a lot of stress.
Researchers say that elevated immune response can lead to chronic inflammation, which is linked to a number of diseases including arthritis, coronary heart disease and Alzheimers.
Researchers did note that living along doesnt necessarily mean a person is likely to have health problems. They suggest in the study that if someone is looking to combat loneliness, they should start a new hobby or exercise.
