Germs Lurking In Dental Equipment
(KUTV) A common piece of dental equipment may be hiding germs.
The clips that hold dental bibs on patients may also be holding bacteria. Researchers tested the clips at a dental clinic after they had been disinfected, and found as many as 70 percent were carrying some type of bacteria.
The germs can be transferred from a previous patient or from the hands of dental workers.
Researchers suggest dental offices either thoroughly sterilize the bib holders or start using a disposable version.
