Check Their Health: Jenni Stokes

Our reporters and anchors spend their careers asking the tough questions. So we decided to turn the tables and ask them the hard questions about health and exercise. This week, get to know's Web Producer Jenni Stokes.

Q: What do you do to stay in shape?
A: I love to stay active, I’m a big runner and biker, but I also love lifting weights and hiking – and I’m totally addicted to spin classes. I’ve also just started taking yoga regularly and it’s been such a great addition.

Q: Do you have a favorite workout? photo 1d59fc67-b1de-492c-90a3-1e641f9e372d_zps4b4c531d.jpg
A: Spin classes, hands down. I love the intensity of it.

Q: What is currently on your workout playlist?

A: Just about everything from The Cure to Jay-Z to Britney Spears. And I’m not ashamed of that, “Til the World Ends” is a pretty killer song to sprint to.

Q: Do you have any stories from your experiences at the gym?
A: I may or may not have fallen off the elliptical once (okay, it’s happened more than once…) in a very crowded gym. The only thing that made it worse was the guy next to me just looked at me, smirked, and kept going. And then explaining the bruises for the week after was also pretty brutal.

Q: What is your fitness “style”?

A: Let’s just put it this way, when I work out it kind of looks like Rainbow Brite is going to the gym. Neon pink shoes anyone? I’m still trying to figure out how I can wear yoga pants to work, too.

Q: You keep a pretty close eye on the 2News Facebook page. What is the most memorable post you’ve seen?
A: Where do I even begin? The most memorable ones are usually spelling mistakes I make and don’t catch…but all of our fans do! Thanks for being my spell-check, Facebook fans!

Q: I’m sure you can’t eat healthy all the time. What is your favorite junk food?
A: I joke that my favorite food is lettuce since I’m a salad addict, but I’d be happy if I could live off chocolate chip cookies.

Q: Who would you rather work out with, Chuck Norris or Richard Simmons?
A: Neither, I want to do step-aerobics with Mary Hart.
