World War II Veteran Honored
(KUTV) A big honor today for a Utah veteran of World War II. The Salt Lake Veteran’s Home was renamed in honor of William Christoffersen.
Christoffersen served in the Philippines during the war and has worked to bring awareness to the needs of veterans ever since. He was instrumental in getting the nursing home built in the first place – working behind the scenes for more than 20 years before it even opened.
Since then, the Department of Veterans Affairs has built nursing facilities in Ogden, and is finishing two others in Ivins and Spanish Fork.
