5-Year-Old Caught In Middle Of Standoff
(KUTV) Police in Alabama say a 5-year-old boy, caught in the middle of a days-long standoff, appears to be doing okay.
An armed gunman took the boy hostage on Tuesday, when he boarded a school bus and shot the driver.
Negotiators haven’t made much headway, but they have been able to get medicine to they boy who has health issues.
Neighbors say the suspect is a retired truck driver who threatened to shoot kids who trespass on his property.
The suspect was due in court Wednesday on a weapons charge.
Negotiators have been talking to the man for hours, but aren't saying if he has made any demands.
