Pay It Forward: Alton Thacker and Tiny Tim's Toy Factory
(KUTV) This week's Pay It Forward is Alton Thacker and the Tiny Tim's Toy Factory.
During a humanitarian mission in Mexico, a dozen years ago, Thacker saw
how a toy car could bring joy to a child.
Now, Alton Thacker takes wasted wood and makes the world a better place. Thacker and a group of volunteers make wooden toy cars and put the toys into the hands of children in third world countries and hospital beds in Utah.
Thacker also brings hope to many who have been shunned or forgotten by society. "We take 2,000 toys every month to the prison and the inmates paint them there," Alton says.
Everything at the Tiny Tim's Toy Factory is donated, from the glue to the saw blades. They rely on volunteers and wood to keep the project going.
