Web Exclusive: Jeanette Herbert on Keeping it Simple
Shauna Lake: What would you say to women? This is such a busy time of year. I mean you do the job of about 5 different people this time of year. I feel like people get a little overwhelmed and sometimes can't see the forest for the trees. What would you tell people, women of Utah in particular?
Jeanette Herbert: You know it's really interesting because I was just talking to my daughter again. I talk to my daughters a lot and she was just talking about getting together with just the grand daughters and doing something special with just the girls and it seems like every year kind of add these different traditions but I thought that one is a good one it would be something. Let's look for something we can do that way. It's just prioritizing. You have to prioritize make sure that what you're doing is meaningful. A lot of things we have to do are out of necessity being the governor we've had events every single night this week. You look for the good in them you enjoy spending time with friends and acquaintances. I think it is just making sure you realize what it's about and you do it with a giving heart. And I think that's it. You think what can I do to give what can I do to make a difference for someone else? Even if it's just something small--even if it is just a smile on the street and say merry Christ
mas. It means a lot that person that might be just what they need. It's just taking those moments and you don't have to do everything on a grandiose scale sometimes it’s just the small things that are important.
