Web Exclusive: Matthew Holland on being the Son of an LDS Apostle
Shauna Lake: I think it’s interesting you say you didn't feel any pressure from him one way or the other. I'm imagining as his son there is an immense amount of pressure as far as who he is and the LDS church and his role and leadership there. What is that like?
Matthew Holland: I made a decision I think at some point in my college years because I was at BYU and if he wasn't the president he was a general authority and I thought to myself, you know I can sit back and say I’m just going to feel a lot of pressure and maybe feel resentful or I can embrace that there are just such fantastic things about my parents and who they are and what they have done for me; and so that's what I’ve done. I love it. I love being the son of pat and Jeff Holland and they mean the world to me and they have been great examples.
