Web Exclusive: Who is Dr. Alan Crandall?
SHAUNA LAKE: I want you to brag for a minute, in the world of ophthalmology you're a rock star. Describe for people who don't know, all of your awards and accreditation's, and kind of where you rand in that world.
DR. CRANDALL: Well ranking is a hard number to put, but I was president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and I've been honored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. That's a senior honor award and honorary lifetime member for all the teaching that I've done at the Academy of Ophthalmology. Member of the American Glaucoma Society and gave their video award which is a yearly award for the best glaucoma surgeon basically. So both cataract and glaucoma are my forefronts, also known for international ophthalmology as well...started 20 years ago in Ghana; actually have also worked with Project Orpheus and other universities around the world with developing international care around the world.
