Web Exclusive: Taking a Risk
Sage Kotsenburg talks with Shauna Lake about a memorable phone call he made to his brother that helped him with the Olympics. Prior to the Olympic finals, Sage called his brother Blaze who was home in Park City watching his little brother qualify for the finals. Sage mentioned that he was considering trying a skill during one of his final runs that he had never before attempted. Blaze gave the green light by telling Sage, "I think you should just send it. Go in with the right mindset, and I think you got this." Sage went on to land what he calls the run of his life; clinching the very first gold medal of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the first gold medal in slopestyle snowboarding at the Olympics.
