Web Exclusive: The Future
Pamela Atkison talks about where she sees herself ten years from now.
: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
PAMELA ATKINSON: Well George Brenecher said that he felt that he should give himself until he was worn out, and I’m probably feeling the same way. I love being an advisor to Governor Herbert. I love the fact that Governor Herbert will listen to me when I disagree with him or if I want to add some points. The governor and his staff respect that I bring that outside perspective, and conversely, I learn from what they’re discussing, and why they’re doing what they’re doing. Why they’re making the decisions they are and can take that perspective out into the community. I have a feeling that if I were to sit home and not do very much, I might get a trifle bored. I think I will do what I’m doing for as long as I can do it. If I’m healthy and I’m able to do it and it’s still worth doing and it’s helping to make a difference, then I feel the need to continue doing that.
