Two Attacks In Afghanistan Kill 6 Americans
(KUTV) One of the deadliest days in Afghanistan leaves six American troops and civilians dead. In the southern part of the country three U.S. service members and two government officials were killed when an improvised explosive device detonated.
In the eastern province, an American government employee was killed in an insurgent attack. The civilians killed in the south were a female foreign service officer at the State Department and a Department of Defense worker.
Afghan civilians were also killed in the attack and four other State Department workers were injured. This attack comes as U.S. Gen. Martin Dempsy--the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff--assess the security situation in the Afghanistan.
