Imagine Dragons concert to help Utah mom fighting rare cancer
(KUTV) The lead singer of Imagine Dragons hit the stage in Utah tonight during a quick break from his European concert tour. The BYU grad and Grammy award winning artist put on the concert to help a Utah mom battling a rare form of cancer.

Kim White, who was diagnosed with cancer in March during her second pregnancy, met Dan Reynolds before he was famous. She was attending college in Nebraska and he was serving an LDS mission. He was playing his guitar at a singles church activity, they met, chatted and have been friends ever since.

The Sandy amphitheater was packed Thursday night, the crowd wanted to see the now Grammy award winning artist and help a mom who desperately wants to beat her cancer. All the proceeds will go to the treatments Kim needs now and will likely need in the future.

White was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in her adrenal glands earlier this year. This past March White was expecting her second child. She did not feel well, had extremely high blood pressure and no one knew why. Doctors eventually found a massive tumor on her kidneys. No one even then thought it was cancer, but they were wrong. At 18 weeks along her baby had to be delivered early to survive. Biopsies several weeks later brought the bad news her cancer was not good, it was extremely rare and would likely come back.

On a particularity tough day, Kim got some unexpected good news from her husband, "I have some news that might cheer you up." The family's friends had quietly arranged a benefit concert with her friend Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons as the headliner. It was a huge weight off her shoulders knowing the medical bills would not have to be a part of her worries.

The concert played to a sellout crowd and brought in $40 thousand dollars. The Whites will use the money for medical bills and to help get her to a hospital in Chicago for her treatments.
