Utah Man Found Guilty of Teen Babysitter's Murder
OGDEN, Utah (AP/KUTV) — A jury has found a Utah man guilty of child abuse homicide in the death of a teenage baby sitter who prosecutors say died as the result of the man giving her a lethal dose of drugs.
The eight-person jury reached its verdict two hours after they were given the case.
Eric Millerberg was also found guilty of unlawful sexual contact with a minor, obstruction of justice and desecration of a dead body.
Prosecutors told jurors that the 38-year-old injected 16-year-old Alexis Rasmussen with heroin and methamphetamine during a night of drugs and sex that also included Millerberg's wife, Dea Millerberg. She testified against her husband in the three-day trial.
Defense attorneys told jurors they shouldn't believe testimony from Dea Millerberg.
Sentencing has been scheduled for March 18th at 2PM.
