Beef and Marinade:
2 pounds thinly sliced beef (flank steak works great)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, finely minced
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 kiwi, peeled
salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp miso soup paste
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 tbsp red pepper sauce
1 tbsp canola oil
water for consistency (about 1 tbsp)
Preparing the beef marinade:
1. In a small blender, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, 3 garlic cloves (minced), brown sugar, and rice vinegar, and kiwi. Puree all the ingredients together and pour over the thinly slice meat. Mix together and let the beef marinade for about 30 minutes.
2. While the meat is marinading simply whisk all of the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl. Add water for consistency, adjust salt and pepper and set aside.
3. When ready to eat, grill the meat (or cook it any other way you would like...pan sear, broil, bake, sauté...). Be careful not to overcook the meat. (It won’t take long to cook).
4. Serve the beef with some large lettuce leaves, rice and dipping sauce. Place the beef and some of the dipping sauce into the lettuce leaves and roll them up like a burrito. Enjoy!
