1 cup whole wheat (i use the wheat buds?)
1 cup lentils
soak overnight or boil together for about an hour, or pressure cook.
2 t salt
2 t chili pepper flakes
1 cup shredded carrots (optional)
1 lb. ground beef or turkey, I like to add some hot italian sausage
2 quarts diced tomatoes (juice and all)
2 cups chicken stock
4 tbsp tomato paste
1/3 cup brown sugarDirections
1. Add all of the ingredients together and cook on simmer for about 1 hour.
2. Salt and pepper to taste and enjoy with some crusty French bread.
