Turnovers Were Costly In BYU's 42-24 Loss
(KUTV) BYU Quarterback Riley Nelson made some big throws to keep drives alive and lead the Cougars to crucial scoring drives, in a game that was full of offensive fireworks.
However, Nelson also made some costly throws, in particular a fourth quarter interception returned for a touchdown by Oregon State's Jordan Poyer, which propelled No. 10 Oregon State to a 42-24 victory over BYU.
The Cougars played the Beavers to a near stand-still midway through the 3rd period, but it was mistakes in the red zone (Oregon State sack) and a couple of arrant throws by Nelson that was the difference in the game. Afterwards, BYU players seemed to echo those thoughts.
