(KUTV) As one of four college football Independents, BYU gets to do most
things on their own accord. Take last weeks Media Day for example.

June
might be a little early to be talking college football, but BYU coach
Bronco Mendenhall has vacation time he would like to use in July, so
therefore, the annual Cougar gathering comes in late June.

Entering his 8th season as the Cougars' head coach, Independence is one of the things Mendenhall talked about at length.

We
also had a chance to catch up starting quarterback Riley Nelson. Once
an after thought in the Cougars stock pile of signal-callers. Nelson is
now the leader by example in the BYU locker room.

Mendenhall Knows BYU Has An Opportunity As Independent
