Talkin'Sports Wrap-up From An Epic BYU-Utah Game
(KUTV) The latest BYU-Utah game had so many twists and turns, so many blunders and mistakes ...and Ute fans stormed the field not once, not twice, but three times, drawing a penalty in the process and nearly costing their team the game.
Ute fans remember last week, the U. snapped the ball before Jordan Wynn was ready and it led to a fumble. This week the Cougars looked human and snapped the ball before Riley Nelson was ready giving the Utes a scoop and score.
With a minute left in the 3rd quarter a Dres Anderson TD gave Utah a 24-7 led.
Early 4th quarter Jamaal Williams scores a BYU TD and its 24-14. With 3:45 to play Nelson hits Friel for a touchdown and its 24-21. BYU gets the ball back and on 4th and long, Nelson hits Cody Hoffman for a 47 yard gain. 8 seconds left, BYU wants a few more yards, but Nelson holds the ball too long and time nearly expires.
With a :01 to play, Riley Stephenson's 51 yard field goal is blocked, the fans storm the field, and flags fly. The game can't end on defensive penalty and Kyle Whittingham is irate. Now Stephenson has 36 yard field goal and it hits the up right and is no good. The game is finally over, as the Utes win it 24-21.
