Tyler Haws Drops 42, As Cougars Trounce Hokies
(KUTV) Tyler Haws finished with a career-high 42 points and the BYU Cougars trounced Virginia Tech 97-71 at EnergySolutions Arena Saturday afternoon.
Haws was sharp from the floor, particularly in the first half when he hit 6 of 8 shots from 3-point range and scored 29 points.
Brandon Davies played just 25 minutes in the lopsided win, but still managed to contribute 17 points and 4 rebounds. BYU improved to 10-4 on the season, while the Hokies dropped to 9-4.
Haws' 42 points was two points better than his father Marty, who played at BYU in the early '90s and once had a career-high of 40 points.
