Jazz Pull Away From Mavs With 113-94 Victory
(KUTV) Mo Williams looked right at home as the Utah Jazz point guard and Marvin Williams was just as impressive, as the duo of M & M scored 21 points a piece to lead the Jazz to a 113 -94 victory over the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Mavs were playing on a back-to-back night after beating the Lakers late Tuesday night, and it showed. In the 3rd quarter alone the Jazz outscored the Mavs 37-13 to take control of the game. All five of the Jazz's starters scored in double figures and Randy Foy led the team off the bench with 13 points.
The newest members of the Jazz lived up to the hype, as Mo, Marvin and Randy combined to score 55 of the team's 113 points. Veterans Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson also contributed, Jefferson notched a double-double with 14 rebounds and 12 points, while Millsap did the same, adding 15 rebounds and 13 points in the season-opening win.
Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors combined for 12 points and 17 rebounds, as both players had their moments. Dallas was not only playing on little rest but it was short-handed, as both All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki and 7-foot center Chris Kaman missed the game. Utah plays next at New Orleans this Friday, while the Mavs are home to the Bobcats on Saturday.
