Doman Speaks Out About Leaving BYU Football
(KUTV) Former BYU assistant coach Brandon Doman joined DJ and PK on Sportsradio 97.5 and 1280 The Zone Friday morning.
The interview focused on many things, but it began by asking Doman who made the decision to start Riley Nelson, despite his injury against Weber State.
"It was the head coach's decision," Doman said. "He's always going to be the master of those decisions, in relation to the quarterback."
The former BYU quarterback said he was not bitter about leaving the program he's been apart of for the past eight years.
"I'm not bitter," Doman said. "I'm not walking away from BYU trying to burn a blaze in anyway."
He said it was tough to leave the program because since 1983 he and his four brothers have been part of BYU football as either a player or a coach.
Doman went on to say that he still has great respect for the school despite not being able to depart on his own terms.
