Utes Defense Gets Burned By Devils
(KUTV) ASU made short work of the Utah defense Saturday night, whipping Utah 37-7. Afterwards Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said his team didn't do much.
"Ah we didn't defend the run, didn't defend the pass, didn't run the ball well, didn't throw the ball well."
What Coach Whittingham did do, was give credit to the Sun Devils for dominating Utah in it's Pac-12 opener.
His players looked internally for answers. "Just gotta bounce back," Utah quarterback Jon Hays said. "We've got to start working on the small things because that's what beat us tonight."
John White said he feels fine after battling what's presumed to be a high-ankle sprain, nobody knows for sure since the Utes are talking about injuries. "Everybody on the team has got to--like Jon Hays said-- re-dedicate themselves," defensive linemen Dave Kruger said. He went on to blame the defense.
"The way we played tonight, was not Coach Whittingham defense. And our defense needs to work on a lot things." Utah heads into a bye week and then prepare for the USC Trojans on Oct. 4.
