Utah Blaze Throttle Gladiators 83-63
(KUTV) Tommy Grady tossed 12 touchdown passes to lead the Blaze to a 83-63 victory over the Cleveland Gladiators Friday night at Energy Solutions Arena.
If the Blaze can beat the Philadelphia Soul next week on the road, they'll clinch the Western Division.
In addition to Grady's dozen TDs, the 6-foot-7 inch signal-caller threw for most yards in a season (5, 579) most completions (483) and most touchdowns in a single game.
The Blaze also got some help from special teams unit.
Antwan Marsh recovered a second-quarter kick off and returned it to the 1 yard line, one play later the Blaze punched it into end zone to take a 28-14 lead.
On the ensuing kickoff Utah recovered another Cleveland fumble, setting up another score and a 35-14 advantage.
However in the 3rd quarter, Cleveland battled back to get within six points (55-49), but that's when Grady hit Aaron Lesue for a 24 yard touchdown and a two score lead.
