(KUTV) With Utah's 103-99 win over the Lakers on Sunday, the Jazz took a major step toward the playoffs. The win at Staples Center puts the Jazz in a virtual tie with the Suns for ninth place in the West.

Looking at the lower end of the Western Conference playoff standings. The Mavericks (26-20) are in sixth place, while the Nuggets (25-20) are in seventh place and the Rockets (24-22) are in eighth.

Jazz forward Josh Howard was Sunday's guest on Talkin' Sports and says, despite their youth, this Jazz team is motivated to make the playoffs. Plus, has some thoughts on why Devin Harris has made big strides in recent weeks.
